The Sequoia Riverlands Trust (SRT) engages
in land protection, stewardship and educational efforts in the
Kings, Kaweah, Tule and Kern river watersheds from the southern
Sierra foothills to the Tulare Lake Basin. Our efforts include:
•
Working with willing landowners on conservation easements and
other forms of
creative land protection
• Using
the best available science to care for and restore the land
• Educating
the general community about the value of conserving natural
and
agricultural resources
•
Showcasing on-the-ground conservation
•
Participating, as appropriate, in public planning efforts that
keep our communities
vibrant, thriving and beautiful
SRT serves as a source of land conservation
information. We partner with landowners and the community, developing
innovative solutions that conserve the natural splendor of the
southern Sierra Nevada and San Joaquin Valley. SRT is committed
to a flexible, non-confrontational approach to conservation
that
helps protect the quality of life cherished by residents. We
implement
a wide range of strategies that suit the needs of landowners
and
meet our conservation goals. Currently, SRT holds conservation
easements on eight properties, totaling 1,765 protected acres,
and we own and manage five preserves, totaling 3,148 acres.
