Sequoia Riverlands Trust (SRT) manages privately owned nature preserves in Tulare County in support of our mission to conserve the natural and agricultural legacy of the southern Sierra Nevada and San Joacquin Valley. These preserves, totaling over 4,500 acres, protect for future generations outstanding examples of blue oak woodland, valley oak riparian forest, sycamore alluvial woodland, grasslands and rare plant species, while preserving traditional uses of the land, such as livestock grazing. SRT keeps its preserves on the county tax rolls to support the economic prosperity of this region.
As part of our commitment to educating the community about the value of conserving these special lands, we offer exciting tours and events for the public and standards-based education programs for local youth at our preserves. Check the web calendar for public programs or tours for school group opportunities.
Before you visit
SRT's preserves protect the area for the plants and animals that live there and for future generations, while allowing for traditional agricultural uses of the land. Please tread lightly and be respectful of grazing cattle. Remember to bring drinking water and sun protection, wear comfortable shoes and watch for natural hazards, including rattlesnakes and ticks.
SRT prohibits the following on its preserves: dogs, firearms, audible music equipment, bicycles, fireworks, fishing, hunting, fires and collecting plants, animals or wood without a permit.
Contact Sequoia Riverlands Trust if you would like to visit any of the preserves that are not regularly open to the public or to sc hedule a field trip for your school group.
